Alaska City FC Post from the Outgoing General Manager: I wanted to reach out and give you some information on The Last Frontier Conference of the UPSL as we transition from our inaugural (albeit very abbreviated) season into our first full season during 2020. During 2019 we had three teams and each team had four official UPSL games. Alaska City FC had roughly 25 games this year, with participation in the Mat Valley Soccer League, exhibition games, friendlies, and the pre-season Alaska Airlines UPSL tournament. Next year will be much bigger, and much better organized. One of the hurdles we had this year was that we did not have a conference manager for The Last Frontier Conference. We will have one next year. I am stepping down as Alaska City FC General Manager, and am assuming the role of The Last Frontier UPSL Conference Manager. My job is to promote our conference, add teams, and make the league as professional and compete as I possibly can. This also means advocating for players, and helping team managers look for opportunities to send players to higher levels of play. Some of the things we will be instituting, that we did not have this past summer are: More teams in the league A full 10-game UPSL season Weekly players of the week Goals of the week Saves of the week Enhanced sponsorship from local businesses Video highlights on UPSL national media Season ending Best XI If you ever had a desire to be a part of semi-professional soccer, don't miss out on your opportunity this year. There will be plenty of opportunities for involvement with Alaska City FC, including new board positions and the now open General Manager position. Stay tuned over the next couple of months to see where AK City FC is headed, and don't miss your opportunity to work with the team as a volunteer (or try out if you are a player). Best Regards, Brett Banks, General Manager Alaska City FC - The People Have Spoken (907) 775-9023
