UPSL Announces Florida Brothers Academy as Expansion Team

Founded in 2019, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL

June 21, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Florida Brothers Academy as a member kicking off with the 2019 Fall Season.

Based in Fort Lauderdale (Fla.), Florida Brothers Academy will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Florida South Division, and play its UPSL home games this season at Mills Pond Park (2201 NW 9th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.

United Premier Soccer League Florida Manager Christian Vallejos said, "We're excited to welcome Florida Brothers Academy to the Florida Division. This is a club built with a solid foundation, and they're ready to take a step up. It's a pleasure to have Pedro Rozati and his group out of Fort Lauderdale in the UPSL. Good luck to Florida Brothers Academy as the team kicks off in the Fall."

Florida Brothers Academy was founded by Pedro Rozati, Felipe Pacheco, Cesar Campanha and Valdir Carvalho.

Rozati, 29, is Owner and President of Florida Brothers Academy. A native of Brazil, Rozati is a graduate of South Broward (Fla.) High School and earned a BA in International Business from Florida International University.

Florida Brothers Academy Owner and President Pedro Rozati said, "We really want to compete and we want to compete in a legit league. The UPSL is showing itself as the league to be in, and we have a bunch of really talented players who dream of playing soccer in a national league. The UPSL is giving them the opportunity to do that, and compete at a high level, and that's what this is all about."

Pacheco, 29, is Vice President and Head Coach of Florida Brothers Academy. A native of Brazil, Pacheco holds a BA in Physical Education from Federal University of Brazil.

'Val' Carvalho and Cesar Campanha are both from Brazil, and they represent Florida Brothers Academy as Finance Director and Sales Director, respectively.

The club soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Florida Brothers Academy is an American Soccer club currently based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Florida Brothers Academy will begin play in the UPSL Southeast Conference.

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
