Twenty for '20: Corey Hogan

Twenty short questions with Alaska City FC goalkeeper Corey Hogan
Published Mar 2, 2020

On a personal level, Alaska City FC goalkeeper Corey Hogan had an immense debut UPSL season.  In his first 45 competitive minutes between the sticks, Corey pulled off what’s often discussed as the league’s save of the season. While recording the match, AKCFC General Manager Brett Banks couldn’t help but be shocked as his number one miraculously dove to his left, denying Arctic Rush an opening goal that was destined for the side netting.  Brett had just one word, which still rings true no matter how many times you watch the replay:

“Woah.”

Corey continued to go from strength to strength as the short inaugural season went on, coming up big a number of times to bail his team out home and away against Arctic Rush and Cook Inlet SC.  While results often didn’t go AKCFC’s way in their first UPSL season, Corey Hogan was a constant beacon of talent, showing that Alaska City FC’s vision of giving Alaskan players an opportunity to shine in the Last Frontier isn’t just a vision: it’s a reality.

We all know of Corey’s abilities on the pitch, but how about Corey after the final whistle is blown?  With the 2020 UPSL Last Frontier Division season drawing nearer, we’ll help to bring light to the more personal side of some of AKCFC’s finest.  In this first Twenty for ‘20, Corey sits down (virtually) to answer twenty questions that’ll help Alaska City supporters learn a little more about the 2020 UPSL Last Frontier Division Goalkeeper of the Year…
