UPSL Announces Connecticut Expansion with Danbury Patriots FC

Danbury (Conn.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSLs Northeast Conference

December 31, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Danbury Patriots FC as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Danbury (Conn.), Danbury Patriots FC will begin UPSL play in the Northeast Conference Patriot Division. The club is finalizing its venue options in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League Northeast Conference Patriot Division Manager Luis Costa said, "It's great to see Danbury Patriots FC join the UPSL as anew member club. This is a club that has spent years battling local competition, and they're ready for the national stage. It's a pleasure to welcome Robenson Nemorin and his club out of Danbury in to the UPSL. We wish the best of success to Danbury Patriots FC as the team kicks off in Spring 2020."

Danbury Patriots FC is the next step for the club, which has previous experience in the Connecticut-based leagues. Danbury Patriots FC will compete exclusively in the UPSL.

Robenson Nemorin and Jean Lexine are Co-Owners of Danbury Patriots FC. Ghisco Sonthonax serves as Technical Director and Head Coach. Fredlet Patrice is the club's Assistant Coach and Manager.

Danbury Patriots FC President Robenson Nemorin said, "Our great city is full of terrific and talented soccer players. Playing in the UPSL will enable our dedicated players to showcase their talents national and internationally. We have been training and playing for quite some time, so this season will represent our luck and our long-time preparation meeting opportunity. Our city will finally have the chance to be represented in a National League, and from there history will begin."

Danbury Patriots FC is in the planning stages as it creates a youth academy with competitive programs for boys and girls of all ages.

The club will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Danbury Patriots FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Danbury, Conn., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Danbury Patriots FC will begin play in the UPSL Northeast Conference.

Founded in 2019, Danbury Patriots FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).


United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
